Behind Brown Eyes

My first blog is going to be a little self centered. I want to give a little insight to who I am and where I have come from. It might make more sense knowing a bit about me to understand my points of view. So without further adieu, here is a little background information about who I am.

On September 10th, 1988 Kelly Burns was brought into the world. I am the oldest of two children. My brother Patrick is just 22 months younger than me. We grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. All the neighbors waved and smiled as you passed their houses. It was a great place to grow up. I played every day from sunrise to sunset in the forest across the street. I was dubbed the "tom boy" of the girls as I used to catch frogs and snakes and constantly came home full of mud. My mother was strict and when those street lights came on, you best believe I was running home in fear of being grounded. My parents Kevin and Christine, raised my brother and I in a Catholic environment. We went to church every Sunday and went to Catholic Elementary schools. I went to 4 different elementary schools since there weren't any Catholic schools in my town until grade 5.

In high school I was friends with every group of kids. I was friends with the stoners, athletes, nerds, goths, you name it. I partied a lot but still managed to pass all my classes with high grades. After high school I took time off and worked to figure out what I was going to do with my life. I went to York university for Professional writing and dropped out due to financial issues. I plan on finishing my degree after I finish College in 2 years. There I am studying Broadcasting Journalism, which I am so excited about!

This journey of finding out who I am has led me to travel my face off. I have been all over Canada, most of the United States, and some caribbean. These travels I thrive off. I love going to somewhere new and experiencing new things! If I had it my way I would travel all the time, all over the world. All the places I have been, I will carry with me. They have helped shape who I am.

The blogs I write are about travels, experiences, pop culture, love, and life. Some are crazy, funny, beautiful and sad. This is my wonderful, random, crazy life!  Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and these are mine.
